Ultrasonic

Ultrasonic non-destructive testing, also known as ultrasonic NDT or simply UT, is a method of characterizing the thickness or internal structure of a test piece through the use of high frequency sound waves. The frequencies, or pitch, used for ultrasonic testing are beyond human hearing, the general frequency range is from 500 KHz to 20 MHz.

Ultrasonic evaluation systems consists of a transmitter and receiver circuit, transducer tool, and display devices. Based on the information carried by the signal (emitted ad returned comparison) - crack location, flaw size, orientation, and other characteristics could be achieved. Materials that can be inspected include metals, plastics, composites, and ceramics.

Baugh & Weedon offer a range of UT NDT equipment ranging from UT Transducers through to advanced Phased Array equipment.
